Fantastic interview with Rockstar staff including Brian Ellis on the design of the original top-down Grand Theft Auto. It’s amazing just how many concepts that are considered hallmarks of the contemporary GTA blockbusters were emerging during this early period. The radio stations with individual content, music written especially for the game, for instance – and the scale of the city. Roll on GTA V.
